Washington D.C. church sued for gay marriages

Yvonne Moore sued the Covenant Baptist Church for $250,000 after witnessing the church performing a gay marriage. She had been a church member for almost 40 years, and believes the money she had sued for represented all the money she had donated to the church throughout her membership.

Moore has since dropped the suit, but has left the church. Half of the original members had also left over the issue. However, the pastors of the church will continue to perform gay marriages, citing the desire to be inclusive and to promote equal rights.
