Non-Religious (Possibly) Outnumber Religious in Britain Survey

For perhaps the first time in history, Britain may contain more non-religious individuals than religious, according to a study by the British Social Attitudes Information System:

NHS buckles for Islam

Religiosity supersedes science once again as Britain’s National Health Service allowed Islamic women to not wash their forearms before handling patients in order “to preserve their modesty.” According to the article, they’re allowed to supplant the washing of their forearms with the use of long plastic, disposable gloves. The problem, as pointed out by Derek Butler, chairman of MRSA Action UK, is that unless the women change gloves between each and every patient, they risk the spreading of infectious.

Let people worship in their homes, temples, mosques, churches, but if ever there was a place where religion needs to be stamped out, that is in hospitals and anywhere science is generally related (by even the loosest connections), because when you start letting millennia old superstitions dictate the regulations surrounding modern medical research, innovations, and breakthroughs, you stifle exactly what these people spend their lives doing: healing the sick and all other manner of health care.
