Art and religion have always had a strong relationship, their interaction is inseparable in the Renaissance and in many other time periods, locations and subjects. Al Farrow has a creative, and visually stunning approach to the topic. He has made churches, synagogues and mosques, as well as other religious icons, out of munitions. In his work the viewer at first sees a beautiful structure, and only after closer inspection can one see what it is truly made of — a poignant criticism of religion indeed.
