As a followup on the discussion about a “greater power”. This argument or challenge to the atheists is always loaded with a backdoor ambush. If you do not accede to a greater power than you are inserting yourself in place of god which to believers is the greatest form of arrogance. I try to explain to believers that I am not greater than the society I am a part of, nor am I greater than the storm that is on the horizon or the DNA that informs my appearance and the appearance of my descendants. Their real objection is that my greater power is material and not ethereal.
