Hello, I’m listening to this interview and enjoying it! One comment to Mr. Ray is that if he looked into feminist literature he may find a lot of critical discussions about religion and sexuality. I was surprised to hear him say that no one has written about it before, and I was deep into all of that in college in the 80’s. Also, a lot of eating disorder books delve into the food/sex/religion arena.

Elizabeth, you are partially correct. I was not clear in my statement. What I meant was, no one has written a book and few if any articles from a scientific point of view on the intersection of sex and religion. Feminists have touched on it but I have seen no one treat the topic in the way I am suggesting in Sex and God. In general, the human sexuality community has stayed clear of the whole religion’s impact on sexuality, angle.

Sometimes, you know, I have always wondered, what sort of, or rather, what kind of — maybe, what brand — of mentality to take to things, the substance, of things that people say for criticism, or perhaps it is support, and how to improve, on, maybe, well… I don’t know perhaps? In all honesty though, thanks for listening and I hope the rest of the interviews I conduct turn out better for you.
