Congratulations to Jessica Ahlquist and the ACLU, who won against the Cranston School District over the removal of a prayer mural which hung in the Cranston High School West Auditorium. Said Ahlquist:
It has been a very long and difficult year for me and my family and we’re just so glad it has finally been decided. I’ve had to deal with a lot of harassment and negative flak from people who disagree with my views and opinions, but it’s all worth it.
The mural in question references “[the] Heavenly Father” and ends in “Amen” at a public school in a state with 13% reporting non-Christian status.
We discussed whether this was petty or important on Episode 46 of the podcast.
